Three Cineca supercomputers ranked in the TOP500 list

Three Cineca systems Fermi, Marconi and Galileo are ranked in the June 2016 Top500 list, annunced on the 20th of June at ISC16 conference in Frankfurt, Germany.

In this list are ranked 5 Italian systems, 3 by Cineca and 2 by ENI, but these system are managed by Cineca too.

Fermi, Marconi e Galileo, together, reach a peak of 5 PF/s.

Marconi, the next Tier0 system of the Italian National research community, enters the list for the first time, the deployment started mid-April and the complete delivery will be in summer 2017.

The first part (2PFlop/s conventional "Broadwell" based) is expected to be in full production as July 2016.

Marconi is an important achievement that belongs to Cineca and to the Italian Ministry of Education, Universities and Research, in the international context of PRACE.
