Want to spend the summer working abroad at a European HPC Center?

Summer of HPC is a PRACE (Partnership for Advanced Computing in Europe) programme that offers summer placements at Cineca or other top HPC centres across Europe. Up to 24 top applicants from across Europe will be selected to participate. Participants will spend two months working on projects related to PRACE technical or industrial work to produce a visualisation or video. The programme will run from June 30th, to August 31th.

Applications are welcome from all disciplines. Previous experience in HPC is not required. Some coding knowledge is a prerequisite but the most important attribute is a desire to learn, and share, more about HPC. A strong visual flair and an interest in blogging, video blogging or social media are desirable. Applications are open from 10 January 2020 to 28 February 2020.

Cineca will host 2 students

The 2020 projects at Cineca are:

• n. 2003: Visualization of supernova explosions in a magnetised inhomogeneous ambient environment
• n. 2004: Anomaly detection of system failures on HPC accelerated machines using Machine Learning Techniques
