Active Users per year

During 2025, on our HPC infrastructures, there has been 9,011 active users, more than 2,000 more than the year before, confirming the positive trend of the last years.

Institution Classification

Without taking in consideration nationality, 71% of users (49% Italian, 22% international) work or study for a University, a Polytechnic, or a School of Advanced Studies, 20% work for a public or no-profit institution, including nationals research centers and other public research institutions (11% Italian, 7% International, plus 2% internal users), while 8% are private institution users (5% Italian, 3% international).

Geographic distribution of institutions

62% of the total number of users has an Italian affiliation, clustered in the Emilia Romagna (20%), Lombardia (18%), and Lazio (16%) regions. While going to city level, Roma, Milan and Bologna, in the order, have the top user’s percentage going from 16% to 13%.

On the international side, the higher concentration of users is in Europe: the more represented foreign countries are Germany and Spain with 4% followed by France China and India with 3% each.
