Two advanced services are developed to analyze user preferences and provide insights into game trends.

Start date: 01/11/2015

Duration in months: 18

Problem Description

This experiment aims to leverage the vast data available in gaming portals and social networks to provide value-added services for game developers and gaming companies. KUMO, the end-user, is focused on increasing its gaming market penetration through 3D printable models.

Goals

New services

Challenges

HPC techniques are needed to store and process efficiently the huge amount of data involved in a timely manner.

Innovation results

Two advanced services were developed: REC-ENG, that analyse user preferences and activities to suggest new products for sale. 3D-DASH, that allows content providers and game developers to understand better trends in games and get insights into future developments.

Business impact

The benefits include a 10% increase in KUMO's annual turnover, a six-month workforce increase, two new specialized workers by May 2019, increased technological transfer contracts by 18 months, and an increase in customers in the HPDA market for CINECA, with an average annual revenue of €20,000.
